Shaping the Future of Local Programs

5:30 PM 7:30 PM
Vine Street Brewery: 2010 Vine Street, Building 2A Kansas City, MO 64108

PAST EVENT

Hosted at local favorite Vine Street Brewery, American Public Square Executive Director, Claire Bishop and Lift KC Founder, Adam Hawley, joined in conversation with Vine Street Brewing Founder, Kemet Coleman, to discuss their organizations and ideas they have for 2025.

Attendees had the chance to actively participate in the conversation, sharing their thoughts, ideas, and suggestions for what topics and types of programs and events they would like to see in our community moving forward.

Whether you’re passionate about politics, arts, wellness, education, faith, sustainability, or social justice, this was a chance to influence the future of local programming and help shape a vibrant and inclusive community.

Event Highlights:

    • Leaders’ Panel: Community organization leaders talked about current and upcoming programming.
    • Interactive Feedback Session: Attendees shared their thoughts about the types of programs that would best serve our community’s needs.
    • Networking Opportunity: Participants connected with fellow community members and leaders over a beer or nonalcoholic drink.

This event was co-hosted by American Public Square, LIFT KC and Vine Street Brewery.

Our Host Location

In the heart of Kansas City, where the vibrant cultural heritage of the 18th & Vine district intertwines with the passion for craft beer, a visionary project took root. The brainchild of Kemet Coleman, a musician, creative, and devoted advocate for Kansas City’s cultural identity, Vine Street Brewing Co. emerged as Missouri’s first black-owned brewery.

At Vine Street Brewing Co., they are dedicated to creating and sharing craft beers that are a reflection of the unique cultures and communities that inspire them.  Learn more here.
