LaToya has 14 years of experience in competitive policy debate. She experienced significant success in the five years she competed at Emporia State University, most notably earning ESU’s first individual speaker award in 50 years at the National Debate Tournament (NDT) in 2011 and being awarded the prestigious Cross Examination Debate Association (CEDA) “Debater of the Year” award in 2012, her final season. After competing, Ms. Green turned to coaching by accepting a graduate assistantship at Wake Forest University.
Ms. Green, has experienced competitive success in all divisions of the activity. During her short tenure as a director, she has been recognized as CEDA Mid-America Critic of the Year (2015), Coach of the Year (Weber State- 2015), and as the 2017 recipient of the Galentine Award, which recognizes exceptional women in coaching.
Program Officer, DEBATE-Kansas City
Corey is a graduate of DEBATE-Kansas City and has been volunteering around the league since graduating high school. Corey debated in high school at Lincoln College Prep, where he qualified for the National Speech&Debate Association (NSDA) tournament his senior year. In college, Corey debated for the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he won an array of top ten speaker awards and out-round trophies. His senior year of college served as a triumphant end to a storied debate career. Corey and his partner Anthony Joseph were noted as one the top 16 teams in the country that year, and were awarded a 1st Round at large bid to the National Debate Tournament (NDT). Corey now serves as an assistant coach for Emory University and a program officer for DKC.
